We firmly believe that Hypnobirthing, along with lots of love and silly songs has played a massive part in influencing the lovely nature of our little girl.
Andy is an excellent and dedicated facilitator and we have recommended her to several pregnant friends. The Hypnobirthing course was worth every cent as it gave us a great level of confidence with dealing with the pregnancy, the labour and the birth of our child. Nelena was in pre-labour for three days before she was induced. As Talise was in a posterior position, she was in great discomfort with every surge.
We used the breathing techniques and CD's which we had learnt and practiced as part of the Hypnobirthing process and found them to be of great assistance during these three days. It gave us a greater level of knowledge and confidence in the birthing process and helped us to feel more in control.
In the end our Obstetrician suggested we should be induced as we were over a week late. We used Hypnobirthing effectively once labour started and our practice run over the previous days made a real difference. As the intensity of the surges increased, it became harder for Nelena to focus on her breathing and the true value of having a close and loving birthing partner came to its own. She responded well to the prompts, learnt through Hypnobirthing, to refocus her breathing for long enough to get through each surge. Between each surge she was able to rest deeply and re focus her energy.
Throughout the birth, both Nelena and Talise stayed calm, and kept a steady and even heart rate. Nelena was in labour for 2.5 hours and said that "I could do that again" within seconds of the birth.
It was the best day of our lives and Hypnobirthing, and especially Andy helped make it so.
Andy was of great support throughout the entire birthing process, from the time the pre-labour commenced, through to delivery. Andy was available to discuss techniques & even provided moral support. We are so pleased we found Hypno Birthing and Andy, it definitely helped us as first time parents, facing the unknown.
Our beautiful girl Talise has just turned 10 months and is what they describe in the text books as an angel baby. She sleeps, she eats, she does not cry for reasons unknown, she smiles and giggles and kicks her feet and shrieks with delight when she sees or enters water. She has travelled interstate twice; she has been camping, became the proud owner of her two front teeth for Christmas and has had the measles. She is very social and happy. We will use Hypnobirthing again and recommend it to anyone who is open enough to listen. I started as a sceptic and have become a great believer in Hypnobirthing.
Thank you for your wonderful guidance and support. Sorry we have taken so long to write. Even a calm baby takes a fair bit of time to enjoy!
